Nature Field Trip with Gordan Darcy

Gortaleam National school took part in a carol service with the three other schools of the parish (Dunmore,Garrafauns and Ballinlass) in Garrafrauns Church on December 16th 2001.
Gortaleam N.S. also sang carols in Kiltevna Church to fundraise for GOAL on Sat./Sun. 22nd/23rd Dec. 2001. A total sum of £405 was raised.
Our school also participated in the Choral Festival in Dunmore Community School on Friday 22nd Feb.2002.
Fifteen other schools from Co. Galway
took part also.
First Confession: Nine children in second class made their first confession
on March 15th 2002. We held our an nual Confession party in the school afterwards.
First Holy Communion: Was held on May 12th 2002 at 10.a.m. in Church of Christ the King, Kiltevna.
School Choir sang at the funeral Mass of Fr. John Mullen (formerly of Curragh West and past-pupil of Gortaleam N.S.)
