If you are a medical card holder you will qualify for a subsidised wig. Entitlements vary depending on your particular health board. Some health boards will provide 2 wigs per year. A doctor's prescription and your card number is all that is required.

Bupa and VHI reimburse their members under their out-patients scheme, after an excess has been reached. You need to check with your own insurer for details.
If you have neither of the above, your necessary medical purchases can be offset against income tax and application forms (MED 1) can be obtained from the tax office.
