In 1993 the
O'Carolan Park was officially opened and a specially commissioned sculpture
modeled on O'Carolan's Harp was unveiled in memory of O'Carolan. The festival
has developed into an International celebartion of the Harp, it's music and
traditional music. Other Highlights throughout the festival will include
ceilis, concerts, lectures and a door dancing competition. This last event is
a sample of the entertainment enjoyed in the country house dances in the
years gone by.
