There are two ways of looking at this picture. (a) It is a rocket from some unknown planet which, on St Patrick's Day, landed on The Heath. Its crew went searching for leprechauns and were devoured by the ferocious Paddycat. Didn't we warn you! (b) It belongs to Kenneth Courtney's Funfair which is based just behind the school.
This ancient rock lies on the roadside in Killone. It probably came from the ancient church that used to be in Killone (from Cill Eoin, the Church of St. John). Today, this stone is known as 'the wartstone'. According to tradition, if you put your hand into the hole on the top, you will be cured of warts!
This is the wall leading into Hennessy's house in Ballymaddock. The lovely murals were done by John Hennessy and his aunt, Una. It took them about three days to get it all done.
