High heath.

 

Hot and sunny - the hottest day of the year.

This seedhead of the Common Catsear caught my eye..it looks like photographs of sun spots.

 

March Thistle has gone to seed quickly. It will be interesting to see if there is a second push from the plant kingdom this year.

 

Another Ichneumon. This one has a white portion in the middle of the antennae. This is very noticeable as the antennae are flicked quickly back and forth. Maybe a signalling device.

 

A gall on Eared Willow. Probably one of the Pontania flies. 6mm across.
