13th September

Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

Dull with showers.

I don't see many Poppies around here. This one was worth showing at this time of year.

This is the Devil's Coach-Horse - Staphylinus olens - a Rove Beetle. In Irish folk-lore, the defensive pose (right) was interpreted as the casting of a curse.

This is the larva of  Spilosoma luteum - the Buff Ermine moth. About 3 cm. long.

The day started off misty, so I ran out and got a few images of spider's webs.
