High Heath.

Hot and sunny.

I noticed that some Willow leaves had been spun together and I gently pulled them apart. This  Anthocorus nemorum was in residence, but I'm not sure if it made the spinning or if it ate the former inhabitant(s).

Many of the Willow leaves show beetle damage already, and I spotted this Bronzy Willow Leaf Beetle - Phratora vitellinae - hiding in the leaf rosette.

Many red ants were scurrying over the same leaves. I wonder if they have a relationship with the beetles.

The Marsh Ragwort flowers were growing on an old stem. It's too early for flowers on this year's growth.

And then on returning home: a freshly-emerged Angle Shades moth - Phlogophera meticulosa.
