More from the trip to Sheskinmore.

This trip added 16 species to my Species Index.

Dry with sunny spells.

Bitter Vetch - Lathyrus linifolia - is a leggy plant with sparse clusters of flowers.

Cinnabar moth - Tyria jacobaeae - is dependent on Ragwort to survive. Wholesale destruction of Ragwort will result in a decline for this excellent moth.

There are just about enough flowers on this Forgetmenot to indicate that it is Myosotis discolour - Changing Forgetmenot.

We had hoped to see the Dingy Skipper at this location and a single specimen appeared on cue. Erynnis tages.

The Wall Brown is a declining species and is now often found solely in coastal areas. Lasiommata megera.

The lichen is Trapelia coarctata which is a pioneer species, and shows that this rock has recently been exposed.

Two Cranesbills. The Dovesfoot Cranesbill - Geranium molle - on the left is about 8 mm across. The second specimen - about 3 cm across - was near habitation and is an escape, I think.

The Small Copper - Lycaena phleas - is tricky to photograph as it is so ready to fly at the slightest provocation.

Two moths - Common Heath - Ematurga atomaria - (left) and Common Carpet - Epirrho alternata - (right).

Meadow Thistle - Cirsium dissectum - is almost open.

Poa annua - Annual Meadow-grass.

A male Large Red Damselfly - Pyrrhosoma nymphula.

Rhizocarpon geographicum - Map Lichen.

Rosa pimpinellifolia - Burnet Rose - has an excellent scent.

Another new Violet for the site. Viola canina- Heath Dog Violet - is much bluer than the other Dog Violets.

Water Mint - Mentha aquatica - is showing above the water.

My first photograph of Bog Myrtle - Myrica gale. Excellent smell from the leaves.

Also my first Green Tiger Beetle - Cicindela campestris.

I was checking this Ladys Smock for Orange Tip eggs and found this little (12mm) Solitary Bee.

A nice little shot of an Early Purple Orchid surrounded by Bugle.

And finally, Sundew - Drosera rotundifolia.
