Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Overcast with heavy rain showers and very strong winds.

Very windy, which makes the insects hide and the flowers sway. This is an interesting Lesser Stitchwort. The flowers are much smaller than usual and looked like Bog Stitchwort. The leaves and size of the plant lead to Lesser Stitchwort, but with white anthers.

Tufted Vetch is the latest vetch to flower and continues to be very picky about location. Vicia cracca.

A fun picture. I noticed that there were two 'buttercups' growing side by side, and with a bit of gentle persuasion, managed to get the flowers close to each other. Top two flowers are Meadow Buttercup, and the two lower ones are Lesser Spearwort.

Hardheads - Centaurea nigra - are beginning to bud. A valuable pollen resource and a frequent place for flies to lay their eggs.
