Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Overcast but warm.

Another green Capsid Bug. I must get a reference for these. Stenodema laevigatum.

Fungal rust on Cocksfoot leaves.

An egg-laden female Cantharis Soldier Beetle, and a newly emerged Frog-hopper.

I'd never looked inside the flower of Foxglove before. The red pads at the top obviously deposit pollen on the back of visiting bees. The new fruit looks exactly like a little pear.

Another shot of the 'funny' Lesser Stitchwort (right), with a normal one beside it for comparison. The rest of the plant is identical to the usual specimens. Perhaps new LS flowers always come out looking like this, although the strange specimens are all quite close to each other on one verge. I need to mark one and monitor it.

Marsh Cinquefoil is quite unmistakable. Potentilla palustris.

Two shots of a female Meadow Brown - Maniola jurtina.

This fungal attack on Meadowsweet has puzzled me for a while.

Meadowsweet continues to attract parasites and feeders. This is an early mine of Stigmella ulmariae - a micromoth.

If you've been following closely, you'll know that I've been looking at an ichneumon that lays on Cocksfoot. Initially I thought this was her on a Poa, but the abdomen is quite different. A relative, then.

The proboscis on this Stiletto fly continues to intrigue me.

I usually take images of e.g. plants in bud at the start of my trip in case I don't find an open one. This time I got both. Slender St. Johns Wort which, as many of you will know, is very deserving of its latin name Hypericum pulchrum.

A new micromoth: Cydia nigricana. This is a pea-feeding species and this one was landing on - and investigating - Bush Vetch, especially the pods.
