Waste land in town.

Sunny and hot, with a little rain later.

Greater Birds-foot Trefoil with the seedpods just pushing through the dead flowers.

Bombus terrestris on Spear Thistle with its pollen bags full to bursting.

This looks to be another Catoptria sp. micromoth. Maybe a worn Catoptria margaritella

Another shot of the very numerous Ringlet.

The tiny flowers of the Jointed Rush - Juncus articulatus - are very attractive in close-up.

Some (possibly 10%) of the Angelica plants are strongly tinted with purple. I don't think it makes too much of a difference about which insects are attracted. The right hand image shows the flowerhead just emerging from its sheath.

Another new micromoth. I'm finding many more this year than last. Anarsia spartiella.

I've only previously seen the Small Fan-footed Wave in Drumboe, so another new species for the town.

A pair of Rhagonycha fulva Soldier Beetles on grass.

A solitary larva on Willow. Almost certainly a micromoth.

Willow Tar Spot has appeared. Rhytisma salicinum.
