Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Heavy showers.

At last! A lovely day, a spring in my step and joy in my heart. But what's that in the sky?

Never mind, on with the photography. This is the mine of Stigmella aurella, a micromoth. The larva spends its entire life in the mine, eating the middle layer of the leaf, protected from the elements and most predators.

Hmmm..that rainbow looks quite close....and what's that on the lens?

About 15 seconds later......Now that's what I call poor light.
