Drumboe - another flying visit.

Added the identification for one of yesterday's fungi.

Frequent showers.

The minute mushroom Marasmius hudsonii grows only on fallen Holly leaves. The first shot is to give some idea of scale: the portion of Holly leaf shown is about 2 cm. long.

The LH spcimen is about 2mm. across the cap. Notice the hairs.

Here the LH specimen is about 1mm across the cap. The RH one is enormous by comparison - about 3mm.

    

Tricky shots, these.

 

On a nearby stump we find a run of Cladonia ?fimbriata. The small plant growing through the Cladonia is Heath Bedstraw - Galium saxatile.
