Drumboe - another flying visit.
Added the identification for one of yesterday's fungi. Frequent showers. |
The minute mushroom Marasmius hudsonii grows only on fallen Holly leaves. The first shot is to give some idea of scale: the portion of Holly leaf shown is about 2 cm. long. The LH spcimen is about 2mm. across the cap. Notice the hairs. Here the LH specimen is about 1mm across the cap. The RH one is enormous by comparison - about 3mm.

On a nearby stump we find a run of Cladonia ?fimbriata. The small plant growing through the Cladonia is Heath Bedstraw - Galium saxatile. |
