High deforested area.

Dry but chilly.

The branched 'stems' of Cladonia portentosa are a translucent white dotted with little clusters of captured algae.

These fungi have recently appeared on dead wood, usually on wood chippings or sawdust from the deforestation process. Hypholoma udum.

This specimen has bothered me for even longer. The spores are dark pink, smooth and oval. I'm looking around the Pluteus area of the books.

A shot of the empty seedpod of the Common Spotted Orchid.
