More from Mullaghagarry wood.

Bright with a cold wind.

The moss Isothecium myosuroides covers the trunks of most of the trees here, and in this case has created enough soil for the Bluebells to grow up the trunk of this Beech.

This Holly leaf shows classic Weevil damage. Another species to target in 2007.

The guilty party is Otiorhynchus sulcatus - the Vine Weevil.

The lichen Baeomyces rufus has fruitbodies that resemble tiny fungi about 2 mm tall. It can be found mostly on rock but also on some tree stumps.

This ledge on the rock-face is covered in another powdery lichen. The Ivy stems have also been coloured.
