Mosses and lichens on approach to deforested plantation.

Dull and cool.

Baeomyces rufus (left) and a Cladonia (right) on a small spur of rock.

And another close-up of the Baeomyces fruitbodies. These are about 3 mm tall.

An unidentified - and very small - dark moss. Ceratodon sp.

Pause a while to let this image settle. What we have here is a white-haired moss with emerging capsules on curled setae. The whole cluster seen here is about 12 mm across. Campylopus introflexus - a rapidly-spreading introduction from the southern hemisphere.

Last year's capsules of Polytrichum commune.
