Lunar eclipse, on an astonishingly clear night.

 

Dull and wet for much of the day.

The earth's shadow crept slowly up the moon until there was only the slightest arc left.

    

    

Then the rest of the moon bcame a dark blood red.

    

The final shot still had a tiny bit of direct light left.

The whole series was about 40 minutes long.
