More from Drumboe Wood.

Stormy and dull.

A quick check on the tree leaf-buds shows that Horse Chestnut (L) and Oak (R) are still tightly closed. Notice that many of the Oak trees still have last year's leaves (they can be seen in the background).

Downy Birch, however, is showing some green.

Two pleurocarpous mosses: Rhytidiadelphus triquetrum (L) and Thiudium tamariscinum (R). I'm finding the Rhytidiadelphus in many places, so it's not so dependent on lime as the books suggest.

Another very common pleurocarp - Isothecium mysuroides.

Again, another tree moss - possibly Ulota phyllantha. The brownish mat is a liverwort - Frullania dilatata.
