Rained off, but plenty of microscopic research on mosses.

 

Incessant stormy rain.

These are the leaves of Hypnum cupressiforme, a moss that has several varieties. I'm trying to work out which form(s) I have in the local patch.

Shot taken at x40.

Some of the dark dots are minute mobile creatures that come with the plants. Mosses are hugely dependant on water, and water-borne beasties are frequently found in attendance.
