Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

1 x Small Tortoiseshell, 2 x Green-veined White.

Bright and warm.

With all those dots it can be difficult to find the real eyes of the Ladybird. The actual head has two small white dots between the eyes, one of which can clearly be seen in the second image, just above dead centre.

A tiny (3mm) Chrysomelid - Leaf Beetle - on Bush Vetch.

The Male Fern is unrolling, now. The sori - or spore-bearing structures - can clearly be seen at the left of the image.

A Panaeolus surprised me. The common name for these is Mottlegill, and the close-up shows why. The mottled effect is caused by uneven ripening of the spores.

Although it looks like a fungal rust infection, the spotting on this ivy is caused by Phycopeltis arundinacea, an alga.

First glimpse of Raspberry flowers.

A Wren's nest. This one was empty, which suggests it was last year's example.

Small Tortoiseshell butterflies are quite numerous this year.

I've spotted (ouch!) this yellow/orange fungal rust on Bramble before, but haven't got a firm id, yet. Work ongoing.
