High Heath and (later) original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Frequent showers.

At last...a Drinker moth larva that is actually eating green grass. I knew they had to do it. Fascinating eyes.

This Rowan is very interesting. I had noticed that it was a missing species from virtually all of the locations that I'm monitoring. And now I'm noticing that it is sprouting up in quite a number of places. I suppose this one is at least a couple of years old and is now big enough to be spotted growing above grasses and lower plants.

A Melanostoma scalare hoverfly sheltering from the inclement weather.

Later....

Germander Speedwell flowers take on two quite different colour forms, although both come from buds the same colour of blue. Both forms grow right next to each other, so it isn't a soil/nutrient/habitat feature.

The little Orange Tip larva is now 5mm long.

An unidentified Muscid. The thorax is very large in comparison to the abdomen.
