Today I went to a very large Hazel grove near the river Deele. I'm glad I went. |
On the left, the male Hazel catkin, and the absolutely tiny female flower on the right. The fruit behind the female flower is not much bigger than a grain of rice.

There were plenty of lichens on the Hazel branches:
Mosses, too:
