17th January

Went up to the Hedgerow today. The sky was clear blue, and the light was quite strong, though low in the sky.

Two shots of a cluster of mushrooms growing in a moss-filled hole in the Hawthorn:

And another growing at the base of the Hawthorns. Tubaria furfuracea, I think.

Two shots of the back wall of the stream. A thalloid Liverwort on the left and young Hartstongue fern on the right.

This Opposite-leaved Golden Saxifrage has been quietly growing all winter.

This Ragwort seedling has chosen a very interesting place to grow - half way up the trunk of the hawthorn, in a mossy hole about 50 cm. from the ground.
