22nd January

Trip to the tidal estuary at Donegal Town, today.

Ground Elder on the left and an as-yet unidentified rosette (probably a Saxifrage) just above the erosion point.

Two more lichens on Sycamore, just a few metres from the high tide line:

Parmotrema chinense

Melanelia (green) with Parmelia sulcata (blue-green)

This fossil was quite prominent on a large rock at the edge of the beach. Possibly a coral - about 15mm diameter.

Just before I reached the River Deele, I spotted this verge covered in Winter Heliotrope. Their perfume was extremely sweet and powerful.
