Dull and showery. Photos from the river Deele and nearby hedge.

When down at the river I watched a Dipper flying up and down about 150 metres of the river. It stopped occasionally on some rocks but mostly it patrolled.

Not a bad shot of a cock Pheasant. I stalked it for a while, then took the shot as it rounded the tree.

 

Someone will know what this is. I think it has only 6 legs, so not a spider. Some kind of mite?

There were about 5 of them scrambling around the roots of some Cow Parsley. About 3 to 4mm long.

 

These are the seedheads of the Groundsel. They always seem to have little tinges of yellow left on them.

Look away if you don't want to see a Badger latrine.
