Both species of Butterfly Orchid were present: Lesser Butterfly Orchid - Platanthera bifolia, (left) and Greater Butterfly Orchid - Platanthera chlorantha, (right).

This Small Elephant Hawk Moth feeds on Ladys Bedstraw, so is largely a coastal species in Ireland. Compare with the Elephant Hawk Moth from June 8. |
