4th July |
Irvine, Ayrshire.
Some decent sun. |
Irvine is where it all started for me. My uncle took me out from the age of 3 and we 'did' wildlife from then onwards. Bird-nesting, catching minnows, identifying plants, birds, insects and animals. A life-long passion. The areas we used to cover are all built up now with factories, supermarkets, houses and hotels. The River Irvine has even been re-routed to facilitate a dual-carriageway. But the good work was done back in the 1950's. |
The Low-Green is on a stable part of the river. What did I find? Himalayan Balsam (left) and Oilseed Rape (right).
I'll stick with the memories, thanks. |
