Deforested Heath.

 

Brief dry periods in a wet and dull day.

 

These Snipe Flies take a perch from which they swoop on passing insects.

 

A pretty pale version of Common Spotted Orchid.

 

The eggs of the Willow Beetle Lochmaea caprea on willow.

The other day I showed Phyllonorycter messinella mines on Beech. This is the closely related micromoth Phyllonorycter rajella, on Alder.

It's now about 3 cm. long.
