Clear-felled coniferous forestry.

Dull but dry.

Seedpods of Common Centaury, which had a fairly miserable year this year. I'm always intrigued by the rather two-dimensional structure of the flower-heads and seedheads.

Marsh Thistle is making a late attempt at flowering.

Ragged Robin is another plant that has a second flowering late in the year.

The immigrant moss Campylopus introflexus, which has extremely long white tips to the leaves. A few of the dark, curled, capsules can be seen to the lower right.
