High Heath.
Bright but cool. |
A few unidentified species today. First, two Mycenas. The left-hand
specimen is about 5mm across the cap. I'm pretty sure the right-hand
specimen is Mycena epipterygia.
|
Galerinas are only identified to species by microscopic analysis which takes more time and skill than I currently have available, so Galerina sp. it is. |
Two plants making a 'second push': Common Ragwort (left) and Angelica (right). I notice that these later flowers are smaller and have less (or no!) scent.
|
Cortinarius sp. that are just past their best.
|
At first I thought these were dark Sulphur Tufts, but that dotted edge to the cap and the very scurfy stems made me reconsider. Hypholoma sp., anyway.
|
Old Thistle seedheads often break and end up pointing downwards. I wonder if they are trying to shake out any seeds that didn't fly. |
Lastly, some Gorse flowers are making another appearance after their autumn gap. |
