High Heath.

Bright but cool.

A few unidentified species today. First, two Mycenas. The left-hand specimen is about 5mm across the cap. I'm pretty sure the right-hand specimen is Mycena epipterygia.

Galerinas are only identified to species by microscopic analysis which takes more time and skill than I currently have available, so Galerina sp. it is.

Two plants making a 'second push': Common Ragwort (left) and Angelica (right). I notice that these later flowers are smaller and have less (or no!) scent.

Cortinarius sp. that are just past their best.

At first I thought these were dark Sulphur Tufts, but that dotted edge to the cap and the very scurfy stems made me reconsider. Hypholoma sp., anyway.

Old Thistle seedheads often break and end up pointing downwards. I wonder if they are trying to shake out any seeds that didn't fly.

Lastly, some Gorse flowers are making another appearance after their autumn gap.
