Boggy area north of the original Hedgerow.

Sunny but cold.

The Reedmace grows in a large, water-laden field bordered by willow. This specimen is about 2m. tall.

This Usnea - a lichen - is about 8 cm. across.

All of the Willows in this area are literally covered in lichens, as the background shows.

And this is a Parmelia, about 6 cm across.

I'm pretty sure I haven't seen this lichen before. The fruiting bodies can clearly be seen.

Hypogymnia tubulosa.

Another foliose lichen with tiny black sporing structures.

Hypogymnia  physodes.

This gelatinous fungus - an Exidia - inflates with water and becomes virtually transparent, especially on days after a frost.
