A couple of flowering plants to brighten up a dull day.

Primula vulgaris. This is the first bunch of Primroses I've seen this year. I know of pink specimens in gardens that were flowering in December, but this was on a verge. Notice that some are 5-petalled, and others have six. |
Taraxacum officinale agg. The Dandelion is more-or-less perpetually in flower. In December and January, the flowers only open partially, and fade to seedheads without showing properly. This one has clearly gone the whole way. There are 240-250 different variations of the Dandelion. |
