Updated Group Profile: Veronica

Dry and sunny, but still cold.

Common Field Speedwell  - Veronica persica - has been in flower almost all year round, but only really opens properly on a sunny day. The leaves are quite deeply notched. Flower about 4 mm. across as shown.

Slender Speedwell - Veronica filiformis - has showy lilac flowers roughly the same size as those of Germander Speedwell. Flower about 8 mm. across. The kidney-shaped leaves are almost diagnostic in their own right.
