6th March

A trip to Steeple on a wonderful sunny day. Sadly, the approach had been savaged by extensive flailing, so very few incidental photographs were possible.

Bright, but cool in exposed areas.

Just a little picture to give an impression of where we are. High on a south-facing slope, with views to around 30 kilometres. That Beech in the centre of the picture will be about 40m tall.

On the other hand, this similarly-shaped Great Woodrush - Luzula sylvatica - is around 40 cm tall.

That was a tenuous link (Ed.)
