A trip to the Hedgerow, leg1.

I challenge anyone to walk this kilometre and not see a picture.

Dull and damp.

I'm pretty sure that there will be a specific fungal rust for every family, if not species. This fungal rust is on Lesser Celandine - Ranunculus ficaria -  and looks to be Uromyces dactylidis. Very attractive in close-up.

Rust sample shown is about 5mm. across.

The Barren Strawberry - Potentilla sterilis - has now fully opened. The tiny dry seed-head can be seen in the centre.

After a small gap of around a month, the Red dead-nettle - Lamium purpureum - has resumed flowering.

There are a few patches of Opposite-leaved Golden Saxifrage  - Chrysosplenium oppositifolium - on a dryish bank. That gives a better opportunity for a picture. It's normally low and in wet areas.

The flowers are absolutely square.
