Just one subject today - from the garden.

 

Dull but dry, and quite warm.

Corn Spurrey - Spergula arvensis - is locally common, but is absent from many places that look like they should have it. It must be very selective about its environment. The second shot is an attempt to show the bizarre directions that the flowering spikes adopt. Flower about 5 mm across.
