4th April

High deforestation, between rain showers.

The first Swallows arrived, today. That's 9 days earlier than last year.

Wet with bright intervals.

Another Cladonia that grows in moss. I'm not sure if the red-tipped fruiting bodies get any larger than shown. I'll need to check back later. C. polydactyla is in the running.

The moss is Dicranum scoparium.

This moss - Philonotis fontana - grows on bits of turf that break the surface of the stream. It clearly likes a sodden base to grow on.

Individual branches about 3 cm. tall.
