19th April |
Hornhead peninsula on the north west coast.
3,4 x Peacock, 1 x Green-veined White, 1 x Speckled Wood. Bright sun for most of the day. Hot. |
A few Peacock butterflies were slowly cruising, but mostly basking in the warm sun. This first specimen was very tired, with substantial damage to all wings. |
This specimen was much more complete than the first, but is still worn. |
Finally a much brighter specimen with very little damage at all. |
