Rough heath/bog.

50+ Green-veined White; 30+ Orange Tip.

Sunny and hot.

** The mystery object is the cover that protects the end of new shoots on conifers. This one split and fell in a way that made it look like a flower. **

One of those days when everything is too flighty/busy to stop for a picture, and then this little (5 cm) Common Frog posed on the grass. Its bodyweight is being supported by grass stems and leaves. I suppose at this size it will be a 2003 specimen.

The star-shaped rosettes of Common Butterwort are beginning to appear. The sticky leaves are already gathering food supplies, as the little blow-up shows.

Did anyone spot the Tormentil?
