Dull with showers.

At first you think "what is this caterpillar?", then when you see it on the correct foodplant, the answer is obvious: It's the larva of the Cinnabar moth on Senecio jacobaea - Common Ragwort.

     

 

This lichen is Verrucaria maura. It looks like spots of tar near the high water mark.

As we returned through the woodland I spotted this single ripe Wild Strawberry - Fragaria vesca.
