Fund raising Events
Walk around the hill
of Howth took place on a glorious Sarurday day, September 13th. Proceeds in aid of St Mary's
Hospital and Residential School. Over 3,500 Euro was raised for charity. Great work Michael Moroney and Paul Fitzpatrick.
The 'Taste of Howth' was
a sell out once again this year. Income from it surpassed previous years
upwards on 30,000 Euro - it is known that 5,000 EURO alone was raised by auction just
to get the organizer to sing!! Well done Michael Fitzpatrick.
The
Table Quiz night (November 20) in the Marine Hotel, Sutton was led by Tom
Keane and team and proved very successful, raising some 5,500 Euro for charity. Great variety of
challenging but do-able questions; plenty of raffle prizes; and 24 tables of
6. Thanks to all who helped to make the occasion a success, including
generous sponsors and raffle prize donars.
Some 26 worthy charities/projects were assisted in the fiscal year 2003/04. Assistance varied from 10,000 EURO to C.A.B.A.S., a school for autostic children in nearby Kilbarrack, 5,000 EURO (in two donations) to St Mary's Hospital and Residential School, Baldoyle and to Lions Holiday Project (at Trabolgan holiday centre, Cork) for senior folk, 3,500 EURO to the Royal national Lifeboat of Ireland (RNLI), to sums of between 1-2,000 EURO for a number of bequests, and some 500 EURO each for various worthy causes.
Presentations to (1) CABAS, Kilbarrack, (2-4) St Mary's Hospital and Special School, Baldoyle, and to (5-6) Howth Celtic Football Club.
