 The Theory Test

Preparation:

"The Official Driver Theory Test" publication which may be purchased at any good book shop.

The publication has three separate Theory Test sections:

1)

To cover A, A1, B, EB, M and W driving categories.

2)

To cover C, C1, EC and EC1 driving categories.

3)

To cover D, D1, ED and ED1 driving categories.

The applicant studies the section covering the category they wish to take the examination in.

Also available is a Theory Test CD-ROM. This will present the applicant with 40 multiple choice questions (just like in the exam). As the applicant answers each question, the computer lets them know whether they have answered correctly or incorrectly. The program will also tell the applicant how long it took to answer all 40 questions.

The Examination:

The examination consists of 40 questions. The applicant must correctly answer at least 35 of these questions to pass the test.

During the exam, the applicant will be asked a multiple choice question. Three possible answers are given. The applicant then must select the answer they deem correct by selecting the answer on a touch screen computer.

If the applicant has special needs, please state this on the application form and arrangements will be made to cater for their specific needs.

Other Information on the Theory Test
