Metalwork

Lorenzo Ghiberti was an Italian artist of the Renaissance period. We looked at his amazing Baptistery doors, carved scenes cast with metal panels and covered in pure gold! It took 20 years to finish the first set of doors - however, in just two classes, our young artists of Classes 5 & 6 managed to produce some very effective raised relief lake scenes, covered in aluminium leaf!
