The Company
Inish Pebble was set up in 1998 just outside Kilmore
Quay in Co. Wexford. The pebbles and stones are quarried from gravel
beds laid down by the sea over thousands of years. In the early part of
the 20th century the Inish and Ballyteige Slob was drained so reclaiming
the land from the sea and revealing the gravel beds. The pebbles,
after being taken from the gravel beds, are washed and screened ( sifted
or sized) by large screening machines. The resulting material is
graded from sand to large cobbles covering a wide range of uses from
standard building materials for mortar, concrete and pebble dashed wall
renderings to decorative garden layouts and driveways. In the past
it was common for these materials to be taken directly from beaches but
for a number years this practice has been strictly prohibited - now we
offer again the possibility of enjoying these beautiful stones in your
gardens and driveways. Our prices are more than competitive, see
our Enquiries page.
Kilmore Quay is a beautiful heritage fishing village with white thatched
cottages and interesting pubs
and restaurants where you can quench your thirst and get a
reasonably priced meal, it's well worth a look around if you are
intending paying us a visit and is situated 20 minutes from Rosslare
Europort.
