Irish Coast Guard Museum.

The museum is situated in the grounds of the new Coast Guard Station in Crosshaven County Cork.It contains the original Rocket Cart and Breeches Buoy rescue equipment which was stationed in Crosshaven from 1850 to January 2000.These were stored in the original Rocket house which is situated opposite the old Grand Hotel and behind the original Coastguard houses.

The original Rocket house is now the Cork headquarters of the Irish Coast Guard Historic Society. All recovered historic and vintage Coast Guard equipment is stored and restored in this building.

The Coast Guard Museum is open to the public on Coast Guard open days and by arrangement with the station officer Vincent Farr, 086-8501802 or Capt. Brian Smith 021-7332005 email bluewatert@eircom.net
