Lupinus (leguminosae) Lupins.
Genus of biennials, annuals and shrubs. Fully to frost hardy Lupins do best on alkaline soils not too rich. Spray for aphids. Remove dead flower spikes for prolonged flowering best to replace plants every autumn.
Eryngium x oliverianum (Sea Holly) Eryngium.
Deciduous perrenial producing large metallic blue cone shaped flowers. Long lasting as a cut flower although grown inland it is shortlived in cold areas try to provide sandy soil and a sheltered spot.

Tuberous perrenial frost hardy full sun or partial shade. Can also be grown as a marginal pond plant propagate in Winter from offsets.
Polygonum (Polygonaceae) Polygonum affine.
Evergreen mat-forming perrenial frost hardy. Superb ground cover suitable for banks cascasding over walls. Flowers change color with age flowering all Summer. Highly recommended
Spiraea (Rosacaea Spiraea japonica.
Deciduous slow growing shrub fully hardy . Prune after flowering flowering mid to late summer Suited to the smallest garden leaves turn bronze-red in the Autumn.
