Coming from the west
of Ireland Kenneth Hennigan got in to music at a really early age,
before picking up an instrument he listened to everything from Irish
traditional music
to heavy metal and the Beatles.
His father was an active member of the Irish Trad music scene, playing in
many different groups
and on any given night you would have an Irish music session going on in the
family home.
Picking up the guitar as teenager Kenneth played in a couple of bands on the
local circuit
but dreamed of bigger things, Dublin was where it was at
so it was time to go there to see if he could make an impression.
It was in the winter of 1998 he moved to Dublin in search of something more,
again quickly joining
a few bands and playing the local circuit but it was in Dublin that Kenneth
still felt held back
by being in a band covered up what he really wanted to say, he still
hadn't found the right path on which to go and and hadn't seen much outside
of Ireland
so, he made a very bold move and moved to Iceland.
In Iceland Kenneth formed really great musical partnership and great
friendship with violin virtuoso
Dan Cassidy, Dan is the brother of the belated and hugely talented singer
Eva Cassidy,
together they toured in America and Europe getting rave reviews where ever
they went
unfortunately they never managed to get anything dwn on tape.
After a lengthy spell in Iceland many great songs were written, lots of
great experiences were had
but it was time to leave then, Cupid struck his little arrow and a wonderful
girl named lovely Rita
came along so things went in a completely new direction.
Kenneth is currently living in Rome and working on his debut album.
