A simple decoy pattern

Pattern 1:                (a) wind is blowing from right  to left

The hide should be on a flightline that the birds are using. The hide can positioned on any side of  the field as it is the decoy pattern and wind direction that will influence where the birds will land. Matters influencing position of the hide are : (a) safety - ensure safe background, (b) position of sun, as it is extremely difficult to see and fire at incoming birds with the sun directly in your eyes, (c) background, as it is wise to have a good background or your shape will be visible as a silouhette to incoming birds, (d) hedgerow, as a hide looks more natural against a hedge rather than standing on its own.
