2002: Castleknock Champions League 2002:
Sixteen
teams battled it out for the prestigious Champions League Trophy ......
and to avoid the Golden Spud award! 1558 euros was raised for
the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Summer Project.
December
2001: The Giving Tree Appeal: Over
2500 presents were collected for St. Vincent de Paul, St. Joseph's Hospital,
Clonsilla, Friends for Friends (HIS Childrens Charity, Crumlin Hospital),
and the Women and Children's Refuge.
October
2001: The Outstanding Young Persons awards
ceremony and presentation was hosted by Junior Chamber Castleknock at
the National Convention in Malahide. The outstanding achievements of
9 young people in a variety of categories were recognised. The 9 award
winners and their categories were: Declan Ganley
(Business, economic and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment), Caroline
Casey (Academic leadership and/or accomplishment), Tommy
Roche (Moral Leadership), Martin Sheahan
(Environmental Leadership), Helen Phelan
(Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human rights), Marie
Feeney (Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership), Triona
McInerney (Scientific and/or technological development), Mairead
Berry (Personal improvement and/or accomplishment), and David
Hall (Medical innovation).

2001: Soccer Tournament
raised £1500 for the Irish Cancer Society.

Lord Mayor of Castleknock:
candidates raised money for their chosen charities. Past winners include
Babs Keating.
Telethon
2000:
The Great Wheelbarrow Challenge and Telethon collections raised £3000.

1999: Bachelor of Castleknock:
10 candidates competed for the prestigious title and over £3500
was raised for Temple St. Hospital.
1999:
Sponsored Headshave for Chernobyl Children's Project:
Twenty young men were approached, and by fair and foul means were encouraged
to lose their hair as part of a sponsored head shave. Over £5000
was raised to pay for flights for 17 terminally ill children who needed
to be flown in from Chernobyl (Ukraine) for vital treatment.
