Hi how's it going, welcome to my webpage! This webpage is mostly about the DeLorean DMC-12, and it's creator, John Zachary DeLorean. The DeLorean car is probably the most international car ever built - it's basic concepts (gullwing doors, SS panels, rear engine etc.) were purely John DeLoreans idea, it's styling is Italian (Ital-Design), it's engine and drivetrain are mostly French with a bit of Scandanavian input (Peugeot, Renault & Volvo co-developed the engine), it was assembled in Belfast, Ireland, where the GRP underbodies were also built, the bodypanels came from Germany and Ireland, a lot of the other components like switchgear came from England, some systems came from America (air-conditioning), most of the financing was compliments of the British government, while the first few million dollars came from American investors and dealers, and John DeLorean himself !

At it's peak, the DeLorean Motor Company employed about 2500 workers in the assembly plant in Dunmurry, Belfast. Most of these workers never had a steady job before, but they showed great enthusiasm and dedication while working for DMC. It was a very sad day for these workers when the factory closed it's gates in 1982 and they were once again unemployed.

Today, DeLoreans have proven to be very reliable cars, and a lot of owners use them for their everyday transport. In my opinion there has never been a more beautiful and stunning car than the DeLorean, it's looks are still timeless, and it still draws an instant crowd every time those legendary doors are opened.

For those of you planning to travel to Ireland for the 20th anniversary show in May, here's a map of our country. If I can be of any help to any of you, please ask.

Enjoy the website anyway, please contact me if you've any questions!

Best wishes,

John Dore, Ireland.
